Panjab University Entrance Test 2011

The Panjab University conducts the Common Entrance Test 2011 for admissions to M.B.B.S, B.D.S, B.A.M.S, B.H.M.S, B.PHARMA, B.A LL.B. (Hons) and B.Sc. (Hons).The different colleges offering the various courses include Govt. Medical College Chandigarh, Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences, Shri Dhantwantry Ayurvedic College, Chandigarh, University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, P.U., Chandigarh and University Institute of Legal Studies, P.U, Chandigarh.

Eligibility for Bachelor of Laws (L.L.B Professional 3- Year Course) (Semester System)

(a) candidates must have passed / appeared in the final year of Bachelor's degree in any faculty of the Panjab University with at least 45% of the aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST candidates).
Or
(b) A Bachelor's degree in any faculty of any other University recognised as equivalent to the corresponding degree of the Panjab University with at least 45% of the aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST candidates).

Provided that in case of candidates having Bachelor's degree of the Panjab University or any other University recognised by the Syndicate, through Modern Indian Languages (Hindi or Urdu or Punjabi) (Gurmukhi script) and /or in a Classical Language (Sanskrit or Persian or Arabic), the aggregate of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates) shall be calculated by taking into account the percentage of aggregate marks that he /she had secured at the language examination, excluding the marks for the additional optional paper English and the elective subject taken together .
Or
(c) Master's Degree in any subject from the Panjab University.

(d) A Master's degree from any other university recognised as equivalent to the corresponding postgraduate degree of the Panjab University.

Eligibility Criteria for PUCET-2011

LL.B - Graduation with 45% for General category and 40% for SC (Admission Based on Merit in Entrance Test)
LL.M - Admission Based on Merit in Entrance Test

To be considered for admission to the Law Department, an applicant must meet the following requirements:

The applicant must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. An application for admission filed during the final year BA, prior to receiving a degree, can be considered, subject to the applicant's receipt of the degree before interview in the department.

Courses:

Bachelor of Laws (LLB): A Three year (6-semester) Course leading to the Degree of LL.B.
Master of Laws (LL.M.): 2 Year course leading to Degree of LL.M.

Eligibility for admission to LL.M.: Admission to LL.M. Part I shall be on the basis of an entrance test. Total marks for determining merit would be 200 :

50% of 200 (100 marks for the entrance test).
50% of 200 (100 marks for the qualifying exam.). A person who has passed one of the following examinations shall be eligible to join LL.M. Part I :(a) LL.B. Degree examination of this University;(b) LL.B. degree (3 year and or 5 year course) of another University recognized by the Syndicate for this purpose.

Eligibility for admission to LL.B.: Admission to LL.B. Course shall be on the basis of an entrance test. Total marks for determining merit would be 200 :
