Admission procedure/counselling

A candidate will be admitted to a course only when he/she satisfies all the eligibility requirements, appears in the UGET, qualifies in the Entrance Test short listed in merit and completes all formalities required for admission in the course. The admissions shall be made strictly on the basis of merit index in the UGET, availability of seats in the course, as per rules given in this Information Bulletin and rules framed by the University from time to time.

The admission process will begin soon after the declaration of results of Entrance Test. Admission will be done by the Central Admission Committees (comprising Deans of Schools to be constituted for the purpose and will be carried out in the respective Faculties / Departments. Call letters will be sent to candidates for counseling. The Central Admission Committees will evolve and adopt the appropriate method of counseling followed by 'on the spot' allocation of seat, subject combination as per candidate's choice and seats available in that subject combinations (if any) strictly according to merit index. Candidates must have with them and produce all original documents such as High School Marks-sheet and Certificate of Age, Income, Caste, Intermediate (+2) or equivalent Marks-sheet and Certificate (if issued), 10+2+3 marks-sheet & degree Certificate of Reservation, Transfer Certificate, Migration Certificate (if issued by the Board) and admit card of respective Entrance Test at the time of counseling, failing which their admission shall not be considered. No admissions shall be made on the basis of confidential Mark sheet or provisional result unless original mark-sheet after official declaration of the result is presented to the Admission Committee at the time of admission. It is mandatory to submit certificates regarding Age, Caste and income on the day and date of counseling. The candidates should pay the required fee on the same day. Failure to pay the fees within the prescribed period given in the admission letter will result in cancellation of the allotted seat.

NOTE: If the results of the qualifying examinations are not declared till the date of their counseling, the candidates who are called for counseling for provisional admission to a course, may be allowed to take conditional admission after submitting an undertaking to this effect.

(i) He/She shall produce a certificate from the competent authority (such as Controller of Examination, Registrar etc.) to the effect that the result of the concerned qualifying examination has not yet been declared.

(ii) It is evident from the marks-sheets(s) of the previous examination(s) reflecting that he would become able to score minimum qualifying percentage of marks relating to the course of qualifying degree that the candidate has secured at least some stipulated minimum percentage of aggregate marks in the previous examination(s) reflecting that he would become able to score minimum qualifying percentage of marks (except final examination whose result has not been declared till counseling) in the qualifying degree (This will not be necessary for SC/CT candidates).

(iii) The candidate produces an undertaking that he/she will submit the mark-sheet of the qualifying examination on or before the admission year and if he/she fails to submit the original mark-sheet on or before 15th August of the admission year, his/her conditional admission in the course shall automatically stand cancelled. He/she will cease to be called „admitted student‟ w.e.f. the very date and the candidate will not be entitled to claim refund of fees paid for that conditional admission.

(iv) Further, if his/her aggregate percentage of marks in the qualifying examination is below the stipulated minimum percentage of aggregate marks, his/her conditional admission will also stand automatically cancelled and the candidate shall not be entitled for claim of any fee refund.

(V). Fee structure for UG and PG course shall be available on university website. The subjects combination for the B.Sc. Biology/Maths groups and B.A. shall be displayed on website at time of counselling.

Entrance Test Fee :

Offline application Application form with Information Bulletin can be obtained from SBI, Saugor University branch on cash payment of Rs 100/-. The application form should be submitted along with their demand drafts of Rs. 500/- (for SC,ST candidates Rs. 200/-). SC and ST candidate shall be required to submit their caste certificate.

On-line applications Candidates may log on to website :
www.dhsgsu.ac.in or www.sagaruniversity.nic.in

  • (a). The applicant is advised to write his/her (a) Name, (b) Name of the Course and (c) Course code number on the reverse of the Demand Draft.
    (b) For the purpose of Bank the spelling of ‘Sagar’ should be written as SAUGOR.

    For on line applicants the chargeable fee shall be Rs. 600/- (+50/- postal charges) for General/OBC and PC candidates (Rs. 300/- (+50/- postal charges) for SC and ST candidates). SC and ST candidate shall be required to submit their caste certificate Entrance fee shall be paid by the candidate through a crossed Demand Draft issued by any Nationalized/Scheduled Bank, in favour of: "Chief-Coordinator, Admission Cell”, payable at State Bank Of India, Saugor University Branch (1143), SAGAR(M.P.) 470003.
  • The Entrance Fee once paid shall neither be refunded nor be transferred to another course and shall also not be reserved for any subsequent year in any case.
  • Ensure that DD clearly mentions: (a) Date of issue (b) Name and Code No. of issuing branch (c) Name and Code Number of drawee branch (d) Signature of the authorized person along with specimen signature (e) Amount in words and figures
  • If the Demand Draft (issued by a Nationalized/Scheduled Bank) is incomplete/incorrectly drawn, the candidate will be disqualified unless he/she resubmits the corrected Demand Draft along with additional fee of Rs. 150/-.
  • Applicants will have to send a hard copy of filled application form with pasted photograph along with original A/C Payee Demand Draft of required amount payable at the address mentioned above. The hard copy be sent to the Chief Coordinator, Admission Cell – 2011, Dr. Harisingh Gour University, Sagar (M.P.) 470003, by Registered post only.
  • The forms should have following enclosures:
    1 - Two self Addressed (preferably Window) stamped envelops.
    2 - Category certificate
    3 - Crossed Draft

 

Important dates

Availability / issue of application forms 20 March 2011

Availability / issue of application forms: Application forms can be obtained from the sale counter of State Bank of India, Saugor University Branch, Sagar. Applications can also be submitted on-line (log-on website: www.dhsgsu.ac.in or www.sagaruniversity.nic.in) from March, 20, 2011.

NOTE : The online submission of forms shall closed by 12.00 hrs Mid night of 25, April, 2011. Last date for receipt of duly completed application (off line ) forms by hand or by Registered post, 25, April 2011. Candidates may verify their status of application after May 15, 2011 through university website.


Reservation of Seats
Candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC if they belong to Non Creamy Layer (NCL) [excluding creamy layer] and Physically Challenged (PC) categories will be given reservation as per the Government of India rules, ST (7.5%), SC (15%) and OBC (27%, [excluding creamy layer], 3% seats are reserved within each of the categories (namely General, ST, SC and OBC) for Physically Challenged (PC) candidates (on horizontal basis), only if the candidate fulfills the other minimum eligibility at the Entrance level examination. Submission of a certificate to this effect issued by a competent authority/Board (details are given under point 5 of this Bulletin) shall be mandatory, at the time of counseling. Kashmiri Migrants will be given certain concessions* in matter of admission as per the MHRD letter no D.O. No. F-10-1/10-Desk (U) dated Feb.2, 2011.

Eligibility Criteria

B.A.LL.B.(Hon) Minimum percentage of marks in Qualifying
Examination (QE) Candidates seeking admission to B.A.L.L.B.(Hon) and belonging to General (GC) and OBC categories must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination securing at least 50%* marks in aggregate in their Qualifying Examination (QE); whereas, those belonging to SC, ST and PC(Physically Challenged) categories must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination securing at least 45%* marks in aggregate in the QE.

Note: For Law Integrated Degree Course an applicant who has successfully completed senior secondary school course („+2‟) or equivalent (such as 11+1, “A” level in senior school certificate course) from a recognized university of India or outside or from a senior secondary Board or equivalent, constituted or recognized by the union or by State Government or from any equivalent institution from a foreign country recognized by the government of that country for the purpose of issue of qualifying.
As per the directions of BCI (BCI: 1823/2010 LE dated 30.11.2010) the candidates who passed through the “distance or external mode” are not eligible to be admitted to the LLB Five or Three year courses.

LL.B. (3 Years) / B.J.C. / B.Lib.I.Sc.
Candidate seeking admission to L.L.B./B.J.C/B.Lib.I.Sc belonging to General (GC) and OBC categories must have passed his or her 10+2+3 or equivalent examination securing at least 50%* marks in aggregate in Qualifying Examination (QE), whereas, candidates belonging to SC, ST and PC categories must have passed 10+2+3 or equivalent examination securing at least 45%* marks in aggregate in the QE.

Note:For Law Three Years Degree Course an applicant who has graduated in any discipline of knowledge from a university established by an act of Parliament or by a State legislature or an equivalent national institution recognized as a Deemed to be University or Foreign university recognized as equivalent to the status of Indian University by an authority competent to declare equivalence.As per the directions of BCI (BCI: 1823/2010 LE dated 30.11.2010) the candidates who passed through the “distance or external mode” are not eligible to be admitted to the LLB Five or Three years courses.

Age requirement:
Candidates seeking admission to  BA LLB (Hons) age should not be 20 years in case of general category of applicants and 22 years in case of applicants from SC,ST and PC. Courses like LL.B (3 years) / B.J.C / B.Lib.I.Sc. maximum age limit shall be 30 years for all categories.

  • On-line application forms are available from March, 20 to April,25,(Mid-night),2011 on web- site http://www.dhsgsu.ac.in/admission and http://www.sagaruniversity.nic.in A duly completed hard copy printout and examination charges Rs. 650/- (Rs. 350/- for SC/ST category with a copy of caste certificate from competent authority) in the form of a demand draft should be sent to address mentioned below.

  • Off- line application forms are available from March, 20 to April, 25, 2011 on cash payment of Rs. 100/- to State Bank of India, Sagar University Branch. Sagar (M.P.). Examination charges for General/OBC category is Rs.500/- (Rs.200/- for SC/ST category) payable by demand draft.

    The demand draft should be drawn in favour of “Chief Coordinator, Admission Cell, Sagar University”, payable at Sagar (State Bank of India, University Branch Code-1143), Sagar ,M.P.Applications duly completed in all respect should be sent by Registered post to Chief Coordinator, Admission Cell, Dr. H. S. Gour University, Sagar (M.P.), 470003 orby hand to respective School Dean Offices for UGET and respective Head of the Departments for PGET examinations.

Submission of application form

  • a. The completed application forms can be submitted to the "Office of the Chief-Coordinator, Admission Cell, Dr. H.S.Gour University, Sagar (M.P.), 470003 by Registered post.
    b. In case of submission of forms by hand the candidates of Undergraduate courses (UGET) should submit in the Office of the respective School Dean. The PGET candidates, however, should submit their application forms to the respective Head of the Departments on or before 25th April, 2011.
  • In NO case applications shall not be entertained after the last date is over.
  • Do not submit any other document or certificates (as these will be verified at the time of counseling) except CASTE certificate with form. The university would not be responsible for any delay or loss of Application Form during postal transit.
