Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian Law College

Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian Law College is the only college in India exclusively for women imparting legal education. To instill the values of the cause of women more in the minds of young girls and to empower them, this exclusive institution for legal education was inaugurated on 14th July 2002. Three batches of students have stepped out of our College in flying colours in March 2007, 2008 and 2009. Two students 2004-2009 batch have bagged University ranks.

The Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian Law College is recognized by the Government of Karnataka, affiliated to Bangalore University till 2008-09 and for 2009-10 affiliated to Karnataka State Law University and approved by the Bar Council of India. The College is managed by the Board of Management of Karnataka Central Diocese of Church of South India. The Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian Law College is the only college in India, which offers 5 Year Integrated Law Course, exclusively for women imparting legal education. It also offers 3 year LLB Course for the graduates. The college is managed by the Board of Management of Karnataka Central Diocese, Church of South India.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Five year Integrated B. A. LL. B
    Eligibility : 12th standard with 45% (for SC/ST 40% marks).

  • Three year LL. B
    Eligibility : Graduate of any discipline from a recognized university with 45% marks (for SC/ST 40% marks).

Notes : Students between the age of 17 and 22 are admitted into the 5 year BA LL B Course.

Admission Procedure:

Candidates with 80% marks or more in the qualifying examination will be admitted on the spot. For others the admission is made on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the oral interview where in the candidate’s vocabulary, communication skills, smartness, shrewdness and presence of mind are assessed.
