Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law (RGSOIPL) is a Law school based at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. It was set up in collaboration with the George Washington University Law School, Washington DC and has the unique distinction of being the only law school within the IIT system. It is also the first law school in India imparting full-time Intellectual Property education along with other regular courses prescribed by the Bar Council of India.
The School offers a Six-Semester, Three-Year Full-Time residential programme leading to the Degree of Bachelor of Law with specialization in Intellectual Property Rights with the requirements of the Bar Council of India.

Eligibility Criterion
- First Class Bachelors Degree in Engineering / Technology / Medicine or equivalent; or
- First Class Masters Degree in Science or Pharmacy; or
- First Class MBA Degree with any of the above.
Admission Procedure
All India written test for entrance to be conducted at Bangalore, Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow and Guwahati. The institute reserves the right to cancel/reallocate any of the centres in case of insufficient number of qualifying candidates at a particular centre.
Candidates who will be writing the LSAT—India 2011 are exempted from the above-mentioned All India written test. Such candidates will be shortlisted for the GD/PI on the basis of their percentile ranks in the LSAT—India 2011. The candidates must mention their LSAT—India Registration number clearly in the appropriate box in the On-Line Application Form for RGSOIPL, IIT Kharagpur. RGSOIPL, IIT Kharagpur will obtain LSAT—India scores directly from LSAT—India.
Application Forms
The admissions are open generally in December - January every year announced in major Newspapers and in the Websites - www.rgsoipl.iitkgp.ernet.in and www.iitkgp.ac.in. The application to be submitted online. The hard copy of the filled in online form must accompany a draft of Rs.1000/- for General Category or Rs.500/- for SC/ST/PH Category drawn in favour of "IIT Kharagpur" payable at Kharagpur and should be sent to the Dean RGSOIPL on the prescribed date mentioned in the admission notification.
