About Exam:

Indian Law Institute Common Admission Test (ILI CAT) isĀ  conducted by Indian Law Institute, New Delhi for admission to its LLM program. The institute was established in 1956 and was inaugurated by the then President Dr. Rajendra Prasad in the presence of then Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru. The institute was given status of deemed university by University Grants Commission in 2004. It provides post graduate and research programs in the field of law like LLM, Diploma programs and PhD.

ILI conducts CAT for admission to its various programs including 2 year LLM program. Indian Law Institute is a premium institute for law education in thye country. It has the chief justice of India as its ex-officio president and other high dignitaires in the field of law holding very important posts. Alumni from the university has gone on to hold the highest positions in the Supreme Court as well as High Courts in the country.

ILI CAT 2012: Eligibility Criteria

For Admission to LLM program a candidate must have LLB degree from an institute recognized by Bar Council of India with minimum of 50 % aggregate. Those in their final year can also apply for provisional admission.

ILI CAT 2012: Reservation of seats

  • Open for all states
  • LLM - 30 seats & 5 additional seats may be created for NRIs

ILI CAT 2012: Expected Date of Exam

Date of ILI CAT 2012 : First week of June 2012
