The All India Bar Examination or AIBE is conducted with the objective to assess an advocate's basic level of knowledge about law and the ability to practice the profession of law. The selection process also intends to check the eligibility and competency of the aspirant rather than expertise.
All India Bar Examination is considered as one of the toughest selection test and is conducted on twenty subjects from amongst those suggested by the Bar Council of India (BCI) for the syllabi of three- and five- year LLB programmes. Through a well researched methodology, the AIBE is conducted at twenty-seven examination centres in nine languages in which a candidate is asked to answer a hundred multiple-choice questionnaire. In this examination, a candidate is not awarded with ranks or percentage rather the aspirant will merely fail or pass the AIBE. Candidates are provided the option to choose any centre irrespective of place or enrollment.
The All India Bar Examination uses this calibration test to evaluate the correlation of specific variables with candidates' performance.
The AIBE aims to make a friendly examination for the candidates and so provides relevant information, preparatory materials on BCI websites, video on how to fill OMR application form and more.
