Modern Education Society’s Law College Sirsi was established in the year1974-75. The inquisitive people of Sirsi hailed the move with all enthusiasm. The torch of legal education was lit up in a small town like sirsi mainly by the sagacity, farsightedness and the missionary zeal of the dedicated persons like Late Shri .G. S. Hegde, Ajjibal, a stalwort in Co-operation, Late S.R.Hegde, Kadve, the key man of the TSS, Late Shri. R. G. Bhat an eminent Law practioner and our innovative Ex-President Dr. V.S.Sonde and ever supportive nature of present President Shri Shantaram Hegde . The Law College is permanently affiliated to Karnataka University, Dhawad. Recognised by the Bar Council of India. The College has been receiving grants from the Govt. of Karnataka under the Grant in aid scheme since 1987. The College has been brought under 2(f) & 12 B by UGC , New Delhi.
The college has well equipped Library. The College is accredited by National Assessment & Accredited by council ( NAAC) with ‘ B ‘ Grade during the year 2004-05. The College is organising Endowment lecture series in the name of Late Justice G.N.Vaidya, in a unique way since 1987. College is also known as a Rank getting College. It is our pride a lady student of our college has secured Ist Rank in May 2007 & in the year 2008 also we accept another first Rank in all probability in Karnatak University Law Examinations. Recently an ideal building is built at a cost of 50 Lakhs for Law College and this has became a feather to its cap.
