In recognition of the contribution to technical and professional education the University Grant Commission declared SOA as a University U/S 3 of UGC Act 1956 in 2007. Ever since its inception in 1996-97 all schools, now under Siksha O Anusandhan University have shown an impressive progress in terms of knowledge skills, human resources and material resources. The university is strategically located in the city, accessible within minutes from the Railway Station, Airport, State Secretariat. Each school has its own campus that blends environment friendly architecture and greenery.
The President of Siksha O Anusandhan , Prof. (Dr.) Manojranjan Nayak is an educationist and a humanist as well. The Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University (SOAU) in Bhubaneswar has set up a new Law Institute from the 2010-11 academic year following permission given by the Bar Council of India.
The new institute will be known as SOA National Institute of Law (SNIL) which will have thrust on quality education in law keeping in view the contemporary society with semantic human resources, curriculum and co-curriculum aspects and will offer Five-Year Integrated Law studies in three different streams such as BA LLB, BBA LLB and B.Sc LLB besides Post-Graduation in Law and Ph.D. in Law.
The SNIL-2010-11 proposes to introduce several career oriented course in Intellectual Property Rights, Information and Technology, Labour-Man Power related Industrial Law, Human Rights, International Humanitarian Law, International Trade Laws, Competition Laws, Space Law, Biomedical Law, Bio-ethics and Law, International Advocacy, Arbitration as a mode of Alternate Dispute Redressal Mechanism, e-Governance, e-Commerce and Corporate Law.

ELIGIBILITY
A candidate for admission to B.A. LL.B. B.B.A. LL.B & B.Sc. LL.B shall have.
1. Passed the 10+2 or equivalent in any stream with at least 45% marks. Relaxable to 40% in case of SC/ST.
2. For B.Sc. LL.B candidates should have passed 10 + 2 or equivalent in the science stream with at least 45% marks and Relaxable to 40% in case of SC/ST.
3. Not completed 21 years of age as on 1st December 2010
ADMISSION PROCEDURE
- Admission to the five year integrated B.A. LL.B., B.B.A. LL.B & B.Sc. LL.B programs will be through an all India online Entrance Test. The online Entrance Test will be of half an hour duration. The test will consist of multiple choice questions and short answer type questions to test legal acumen, linguistic skills, logistic and analytical reasoning, mathematical and numerical ability and general knowledge.
- Age of the candidate should not be more than 20 years on 1st July, 2011.
- The prospective candidates who are interested to have admission in the Institute of Law, Nirma University(ILNU), required to appear in the Common Admission Test(CLAT 2011), to be conducted by WBNJUS, Kolkata on 15th May 2011. For details, refer www.clat.ac.in . The interested candidates should also fill up the application form of the Institute of Law Nirma University. The last date for submission of filled form of CLAT, 2011 is 2nd April, 2011. The Candidates are also required to fill in the application form of Institute of Law, Nirma University. Candidates who have appeared in CLAT 2011 and also applied in Institute of Law, Nirma University will be considered for admission based on inter se merit of CLAT 2011.

Application for the admission test can be obtained from the University Counter and SNIL Centre free of cost, or by down loading the same as available in our website. The filled in application form shall be returned by hand / post to the Admission Director, SOA University, SOA Campus, Bhubaneswar on or before 10th October 2010. Candidates can also apply online by logging into www.soauniversity.ac.in. Online applications should be sent to the officer above in a printed filled in application form duly signed on or before 10th October 2010.

SNIL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP
SNIL Legal Study Center will provide free education to the topper of SNIL 2010, and sponsor 75 percent and 50 percent of course fees for the second and third toppers respectively, if admitted to SNIL Legal Study Center in Under Graduate program.
