Tinsukia Law  College first opened its portals in the year 1973. Initially the college had to function from Tinsukia College, thereafter shifted to Hindustani Vidyalaya. In the year  1996 the College moved to its present permanent location which was built on a 2 bigha plot of land allotted by the Government. Late Kesav Chandre Gogoi, an eminent lawyer was the founder Principal of this college who later become theRevenue Minister and ultimately adorned the post of Chief Minister ship of Assam. Tinsukia Law College is the only College imparting legal education in entire Tinsukia District and admits students from entire North Eastern part of  Assam and two districts of Arunachal Pradesh. The law graduates from this college besides serving the Bars of the Session and District Courts of Tinsukia, Sub-Divisional Courts of Sadiya, Margherita and Guwahati High Court are also serving in the state Judicial Service. Many Law Graduates of this college have also set their feet in Legal Education and high profile jobs in different Public as well as Private Limited Companies in the country.
