About
The College of Legal Studies (CoLS) at UPES offers graduate programs for professionals keen to pursue a legal career with a specialization in corporate and energy law in addition to regular legal studies. The program is designed to develop future legal professionals with the acumen to guide clients and corporates through the intricacies of regulatory framework, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions and other legalese.

The College offers B.A. LL. B. as well as the unique B.B.A. LL. B. degree program which ensure that lawyers are not only well versed in legal nuances but also understand the intricacies of business.

The integrated B. Tech LL. B. program in collaboration with the College of Engineering Studies (CoES) is the first of its kind in South Asia.

UPES offers 4 undergraduate programs which provide a wide range of legal studies that are truly innovative under the constituent College of Legal Studies. Apart from regular Law programs, the university also presents two integrated programs of Law with Energy Technology and Law with Computer Science.

Approved by Bar Council of India, these integrated programs are the first of their kind of programs in the whole of South Asia. These programs, designed with active participation of the industry, aimed at creating Techno legal professionals who would be the pioneers in this upcoming domain in India.

UPES Law Aptitude Test Date ( ULSAT 2012 ) : 19th May, 2012

Admission Criteria for UPES Law Entrance 2012 :

5 Years Integrated BA LLB / BBA LLB : Admission through UPES Exam ( UL-SAT ) ( Upto 80% seats ) UPES Law Studies Aptitude Test ( UL-SAT ) / Board Merit / CLAT Merit / L-SAT India. Merit followed by Group Discussion & Interview.

LAW Programs through Board Merit / CLAT Merit / UL-SAT India Merit :

For BA LLB / BBA LLB : Candidates with minimum 50% marks in higher & senior secondary ( 10th & 12th ) and CLAT ranking upto 5000/ L-SAT India score of 60 percentile or above will be exempted from UPES Law Studies Aptitude test and will be invited directly for GD and Interview.

For B.Tech + LLB : Candidates with minimum 60& marks in higher & senior secondary ( 10th & 12th ), minimum 60% marks in PCM at senior secondary level (12th) and CLAT ranking upto 5000/- L-sat India socre of 60 percentile or above will be exempted from UPES-EAT and admissions through Merit Ranking. ( or )

For BA LLB / BBA LLB : Candidates with 85% marks in 10th and 12th best of five subjects ( English as one of the compulsory paper ) are exempted from UPES law studies Aptitude test ( ULSAT ) and will be invited directly for GD and interview.

For B.Tech + LLB : Candidates with minimum 80% marks in 10th, 12th and 12th PCM ( Physics, Chemistry, & Maths ) are exempted from UPES-EAT and admissions through merit ranking.

Upto 20$ seats shall be filled through board merit / clat / lsat India category. Incase, any seat remain vacant upes has the right to fill such seats through any other means.

Candidates placed in compartment are not eligibile for admission to any program of study in the university.

ULSAT Eligibility Criteria 2012 :

UPES BA LLB : Minimum 50% Marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level ( 10th & 12th ).

UPES BTech : 1. Minimum 60% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level ( 10th & 12th ).
2. Minimum 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level.

Age Limit : Only candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 1, 1990 are eligible to apply for admission. Date of Birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board University certificate only will be taken as authentic.
